Amazon India just made it easier to buy used books.

The e-commerce giant launched a used books store in India last week, with over one lakh titles on sale.

Used books are very popular in the US, with most online retailers listing second-hand books as an option when you're browsing to buy books. These usually come with some images of what the book looks like and comments from the seller about the condition of the book.

Used books are also cheaper than the original paperbacks or hardcovers.

Amazon India says that the quality of the used books is checked by the sellers, and only then listed on the store.

They say, the books will be "like-new", in "good and acceptable condition".

The used books store will have books that have both the covers and the pages are intact, and if the book has no yellow pages, stains, pen or pencil marks or obscured text. In some cases, they may contain pen or pencil marks.

Amazon is offering free shipping if your order exceeds Rs 399 from the same seller. There's a cash on delivery option too.
